I am the CTO of a tech startup that helps to connect people with their pets at a distance, this is a video streaming service that helps to observe the actions of your pets while you are away. We had developed an iOS version of our app. We don’t have developers in-house, so we were looking to outsource the project. Our goals were to develop an iOS app that had the core features of the other client versions we have released in order to increase user engagement. We needed to find development resources with a wide range of design and mobile development skills. We were looking for teams with native mobile development skills ranging from coding to solutions architecture to requirements gathering. We searched a wide variety of mobile app development shops, weighed the options of hiring internally / freelancing routes, and landed on TopDevs after whittling the list down to 3 top options. We reviewed their website and reviews online before contacting them to start initial conversations. We needed extra hands to redesign the existing app and transform certain functionality. Due to occurring changes in subscription plans, it was crucial to hide some features so users could use only the feature set they paid for I only ever dealt with the project manager. We were never inconvenienced by team composition changes. We mostly worked with three people. We worked with a total of five people; developers came in and out, depending on where we were within the project. The application redesign has resulted in the need to add, remove, and modify particular screens and functionality. With the increase of features, some of them were recognized as the ones suitable for sale. So specific subscription plans were developed The workflow and communication were excellent, we used JIRA, Slack, and google sheets to ensure the features and development time scale was being adhered to at all times. They are very precise, and their detailed focus means they deliver exactly what is asked of them. They are also very adaptable. Their ability to hit the ground running and solve many challenges without our intervention was impressive.
